Turn Spoken Notes Into Meeting Follow Ups
The best moment to write a follow up is right after the meeting ends. Speaking your summary takes a minute or two, and the transcript is ready to paste into email, chat or your task list.
The two minute debrief
When the call ends, press your dictation hotkey and cover three things in order: what was decided, who owns each next step, and when it is due. A fixed order makes the notes easy to scan later and easy to forward.
- > Decisions: one sentence each.
- > Actions: name, task, date.
- > Open questions: what needs an answer next.
Hands free starts with wake words
In listen mode, DictatorFlow can run an on device voice activity and wake word detector. Turn on voice_activation_enabled in your config and say a configured wake word, such as the defaults flow or hey, to begin dictating without touching the keyboard. It is handy when you are standing at a whiteboard or walking out of a room.
Keep sensitive notes on your machine
Desktop binaries and local inference are free. Choose Local mode with the Parakeet model and recordings are transcribed on your own computer, with CPU fallback when no supported GPU is available. Run dictatorflow --download-model to fetch the model into ~/.dictatorflow/models/parakeet-ctc-0.6b and set it up for you.
Find yesterday's note quickly
Each capture is stored as audio plus a transcript text file in ~/.dictatorflow/audio-history. Open recent outputs with dictatorflow --history or ctrl+shift+alt+h, copy what you need, and send it along. Because files are plain text, your usual search tools find them too.
